Earlier I talked about hooking up my old antenna to my new 42" Plasma TV and getting about a dozen HiDef channels over the airwaves at no cost. I also mentioned my "HD Ready" television in the basement which was hooked up to a HD Satellite box. I had cancelled my HD channels from my provider about a year ago, mostly because the kinds of shows they ususally have on in HD were the shows I would usually watch upstairs

Well, after my remarkable discovery of "over the air" HDTV I decided to take another peek at my satellite box (6100 I think is the model) and lo-and-behold it has an antenna input.
So, I hook the thing up, scan the menu's and somewhere I found "search for locals" or "scan locals" or something. It gave me the option of scanning analog or digital. As you might have guessed, I got all of the same digital channels as I did on the upstairs plasma. So, you can use the HD satellite box as an ATSC tuner for OTA signals...cool!
